Hocky Hall of Fame

The United State’s Hockey Hall of Fame is America’s hockey showcase. Beginning in 1973, the Hall has honored and recognized outstanding coaches, players, builders and administrators who have contributed to the success and promotion of American Hockey. Visit the US Hockey Hall of Fame in person and experience the thrilling game action and inspiring achievements via physical displays, exhibits, video, theater and memorabilia.

Worlds Largest Hocky Stick

Measuring 107 feet and weighing over three tons, this Christian Brothers hockey stick is complete with a giant rubber puck. Located in downtown Eveleth on Main Street – Grant Avenue. A must stop for any children who play hockey. The stick was renovated and was completed in the summer of 2002. Pieces of the old stick are available to purchase. Leonidas Overlook Mineview

Leonidas Overlook is located about a mile southwest of downtown and is formed from mining overburden. From here, visitors will see former iron ore/taconite mine sites, as well as the active mine, UTac, in Eveleth. This is the largest man-made point on the Iron Range. You will be able to view over 15 miles of breathtaking scenery from here.

Fortune Bay Golf Course

Discover the scenic beauty of the new 18-hole Wilderness at Fortune Bay. Designed by Texas golf course architect Jeffrey D. Brauer, The Wilderness measures approximately 7,207 from the back tees, giving long hitters all they can handle. With fours sets of tees, golfers of all abilities can pick a challenge best suited to their skill level.

Range Creative Art Center

The purpose of the Range Artists Association is to further the artistic education of Iron Range Residents through art exhibits and instruction.

Fayal Pond Trail System

The Fayal Pond trail system in Eveleth travels 3.5 miles to the Eveleth Veterans Park and provides northern Minnesota bikers with some great scenery including the lighted water fountain, big bobber, beautiful lake and wildlife scenery.

Hull Rust Mahoning Mine View

View the biggest operating open pit iron ore mine in the world, more than three miles long, two miles wide and 535 feet deep. A slide presentation in the observation building explains the colorful history of the mine and early miner’s activities. An observation building, mine exhibits, mine shovel bucket, mining truck, interpretive graphics and a walking trail make the trip to the Hull Rust Mine View memorable. Visitor information center on-site with area brochures.

Minnesota Discovery Center

Journey through the generations at Ironworld Discovery Center. Ride a trolley with spectacular mine views, explore the outdoor exhibits, take part in cultural heritage activities and uncover links to the past at the Iron Range Research Center. Virginia Golf Course

The Virginia Municipal Golf Course, with its brand new log clubhouse and remodeled course, offers mature pine trees, water hazards and various sand traps. Three new hole designs are now open. Log clubhouse features complete pro shop and full service restaurant and bar. New driving range open. Iron Range’s most popular 18-hole golf course. Located one mile north of Virginia on Hwy. 53.

Iron Range Off-Highway Vehicle Recreation Area

Gilbert is home to Minnesota’s first designated state recreation area for off-highway vehicles (OHV) and all-terrain vehicles (ATV). This park features more than 1,200 acres of recreation trails, scramble areas, training, hill climbs, rock crawls, special events. This northern Minnesota OHV facility is for use by off-road motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, and 4×4 Jeeps and trucks. This park is open to the public for recreational riding and will also host state and national competitive events.
